William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A three-season track star for Hiram, was inducted for his outstanding achievements in Hiram College track and field. After only two seasons on the track squad, he was the major point receiver and was named Most Valuable performer in 1971. The following year, he became captain of the team.
Since he graduated from Hiram in only three years, his accomplishments are even more impressive. In 1972 he received the NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship Award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association for outstanding achievements as a scholar and athlete. In addition, he was the recipient of the Donald M. Campbell Memorial Award in 1971.
As of his induction, Toney still held the Hiram records for the 100-yard dash, the 220-yard dash and the 440-yard run.
