Hiram College

Bowe was an All-Ohio Conference player in football both his junior and senior years. Bowe was also captain of the football team his senior year and was a member of the track team, competing in many events, but his specialty was the quarter-mile.

He was also a member of the relay team, which cut almost four seconds off the longstanding college record for the mile. His senior year, Bowe also earned a letter in basketball. 

Complementing his athletic career was his service to the Hiram College community as a campus leader. Following his distinguished career with the Monsanto Company, as of his induction, he and his wife had retired to Lakeview, Ark.
