William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A member of the class of 1964, John was recognized as a leader of the Hiram football team and considered one of the best football players in the Ohio Athletic Conference. John was the Terriers most valuable player in both his junior and senior seasons, and after his senior season -- when he rushed for 613 yards and 10 touchdowns -- he was selected to represent the Ohio Conference in the Senior Bowl held in Erie, Pa. Coaching that all-star squad was a gentleman who was rising through the coaching ranks and who served as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions -- Joe Paterno, one of the legends of the college game.
John's contributions to the life of the institution included participation on the basketball team and managing WHRM, the campus radio station.
Retired from the Chrysler Corporation as Business Manager of the Twinsburg Office, John stays active as of his induction with his passions for collecting old cars, traveling to the islands, attending athletic events, and cooking.
