James Brumbaugh was inducted for his participation as a wrestling letterman and team captain for four years. He competed in the 152 and 160 pound weight classes. He qualified for the nationals in 1965, 1966 and 1967. During his hears at Hiram, he also was a keen competitor on the football team for three years.
As football letterman, he played offensively as a halfback and also served as the team punter. In 1966 and '67, the Hiram team, with Jim's help,
held the OAC championship title. Also while at·Hiram, Jim was a member of Kappa Sigma Pi and the Co-Director of intramural sports.
His continuing interest in athletics led him to a career in Physical Education. As of his induction, Jim was Supervisor of secondary physical education and athletics at Johnston School Department and a member of the Rhode Island Football, Wrestling and Baseball Coaches Associations.
