As a four-year letterman on the Men’s Soccer Team, David Krems helped lead the resurgence of the program back to the top tier of the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Terriers had a combined overall record of 43 wins, 23 losses, and 13 ties from 2006 through 2009, after not having a winning record in any of the previous nine seasons.

David exploded onto the scene as a freshman in 2006, leading the team in total points and being named the North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year. He also won the first of his three All-Conference honors as a 1st team selection. In 2007, he upped his game even further, again leading the team in points and game-winning goals, and garnered his second 1st Team All-NCAC honor. In addition, he was named to the All-Ohio Mideast Regional Team, and at the end of the academic year he was the recipient of the 2008 Donald M. Campbell Award, given each year to the most outstanding male student-athlete at Hiram. David won his third All-NCAC honor as a junior during the 2008 season.

After his senior year in 2009, he finished his career ranked in the Top-Ten all-time in four major categories; 2nd in Game-Winning Goals (8); 4th in Games Started (64); 6th in Shots on Goal (56); and 9th in Goals Scored (23).

After graduating from Hiram in 2010, David entered the coaching field, first as an assistant with the Terriers, then gaining more experience in assignments at Notre Dame College, Case Western Reserve, and Penn State Behrend. In 2020 he was named the Head Coach at the University of Mount Union, where he is now in his third season of leading the Purple Raiders. In addition, he has coached Youth Soccer Teams in Northeast Ohio for the last twelve years.
