Amanda (Weigand) Frankenberg '05 was a four-year member of the Terrier softball program. A four-year letterwinner, Frankenberg was selected an all-North Coast Athletic Conference performer following all four seasons. She was named a Second-Team selection in 2003 and 2005, while earning honorable mention laurels in 2002 and 2004.
2003 was arguably Frankenberg's best, as she hit .300, totaling a personal-best 31 bases, with three doubles, a pair of triples and four RBIs. In addition, she posted a career-high nine stolen bases en route to her first, second-team selection.
Throughout her career, Frankenberg was a .285 hitter, finishing with 95 hits, five doubles and 21 RBIs. In addition she still sits on the all-time Terrier leaderboard in career triples (five) and ranks fifth in school history in stolen bases (29).
Graduating from Hiram in 2005, Frankenberg went on to work as a marine mammal trainer at SeaWorld's Discovery Cove, where she had been for the past 12 years as of her induction. Along with her work at SeaWorld, Frankenberg has also participated in Conservation Ambassador Programs in Greece in '08 and along the Ohio River Valley in 2016.
In addition to her work, as of her induction, she was a member of the Junior League of Greater Winter Haven, Florida, and an active volunteer in both her church and the community.
