William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Dawn Martin Zappitelli was an avid volleyball and basketball player during her career at Hiram College, playing each sport for all four years. She also won the Helen Petrasky Award and was MVP for two years in both volleyball and basketball.
Outside of athletics, she was involved in Education Club and was a Resident Assistant for two years. Since graduation, she has received her Master's degree in 2000 and is currently finishing her principals' certification from Gannon University. As of her induction, Zappitelli taught 6th grade at Conneaut Middle School and was the head coach of the Conneaut High School volleyball team. She has received the Agnes Merando Teacher Excellence Award.
In her spare time she is on the Board of Directors of the Ashtabula Women's Scholar Athlete Association, a volunteer coach for City Reek Volleyball and basketball, Vice President of the minor division of little league softball, and is holds other leadership roles for the Conneaut Area City Schools.
