William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A team captain and receiver on the Terriers' football team from 1983-1986, Gregg held school records for receptions (162), receiving yards (2,585), and touchdown receptions (19) in a career. He also held school records for receptions (50), receiving yards (186) and touchdown receptions (9) in one season. Gregg received All-PAC honors four times and All-American recognition twice during his career. As both a junior and a senior, he was selected as Hiram's Offensive Player of the Year by his teammates.
During the off season, Gregg stayed in shape playing intramural basketball and softball and as a member of the Rugby Club. His commitment to physical fitness later earned him the Sheriff's Academy Physical Fitness Award, where he had been voted platoon leader. For the past ten years as of his induction, Gregg had been deputy sheriff for Monroe County in New York.
But perhaps Gregg's greatest reward and, without a doubt, the most unexpected turn of events since he left Hiram was saving the life of a woman
who was drowning in the Atlantic Ocean while vacationing in Wildwood, N.J.
