Jenny Hatfield was a four-time letterwinner for the women's basketball team. Having played in 87 career games, Hatfield averaged 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists from her guard position in her four years. As of her induction, she ranked seventh on Hiram's all-time list in made field goals (373), ninth in field goal attempts and points per game, and 10th in field-goal percentage (.403).
Hatfield led her Terrier teams in scoring in three of her four seasons, including her freshman campaign, in which she averaged 10.4 per night. That year, Jenny posted a career-high .451 shooting percentage while also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per night.
Her top scoring season came in 1998-99 as she posted 372 points en route to 16.2 points per game. She was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week, twice that season, Hiram's last in the OAC.
In the Terriers' first year in the North Coast Athletic Conference, Hatfield once again led the team in scoring (11.7), while averaging 3.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals, en route to NCAC Honorable Mention honors.
Since graduation and as of her induction, Hatfield has spent her post-graduate career as an elementary school teacher within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, where she has been since 2001. In addition, she has served as a test coordinator for the Iowa Maple Elementary School since 2011.
