William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Echan was a four-year starter and letter winner in football and baseballĀ for the Terriers. He captained the 1973 baseball team which won the President's Athletic Conference championship. Echan earned All-PAC honors that same season.Ā
Following his graduation from Hiram, Echan attended Kent State University to pursueĀ hisĀ master's degree in education. As of his induction, he also coaches a traveling girls fast-pitch softball team.Ā
One of Echan's goals in life is to attend a game at every major leagueĀ baseball stadium. As of his induction, he had been to 18 of the 30 parks in use today.
