Carlton Dean III was a four-year letter winner for the Terrier men's basketball program. A two-time All-NCAC selection, Dean finished his career ranked 11th on the all-time Hiram scoring list (1,324) and still holds that spot, today.
Three times in his career, Dean averaged double-digit scoring, posting 10.1 points per game as a sophomore, before upping that to 16.2 points per night as a junior. Also during his junior campaign, Dean shot a career-best .477 from the field en route to earning All-NCAC Honorable Mention honors.
Dean's senior season was one of the top-ten individual scoring years in Hiram College history. He became just the sixth player at Hiram to top 500 points in a single season, averaging 20.1 points per night. That year, he ranked 39th in the country in scoring while also setting career highs in rebounds per game (5.2). For his efforts, he was named a Second-Team All-NCAC honoree.
For his career, Dean averaged 13.1 points per game while shooting nearly 47% from the field. Additionally, he added 4.8 rebounds per night while appearing in 101 career games.
After earning his degree at Hiram, Dean went on to play basketball overseas in Spain, Amsterdam and Germany. As of his induction, Dean served as the CEO and President of Demarrt Building Services, while also serving as a partner at Ease Global Logistics and Venia Medical.
