Kevin Maness proved himself an accomplished swimmer during his four years at Hiram. He was a seven-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion, including four times in the 400 individual medley, twice in the 200 backstroke (1991-92) and once in the 200 IM (1991). He won thirteen All-OAC awards, the 1991 OAC “Swimmer of the Year,” and was a Clyde A. Lamb Scholar-Athlete nominee as a senior.

In addition, Kevin was a four-time team “Most Valuable Player” and two-time team captain (1991-92). His school records in the 200 and 400 IM and the 100 and 200 backstroke stood for nearly 10 years. He also was a member of the 200 freestyle relay that set the school record that stood until 2004.

As of his induction, Maness recently began his 15th year as a teacher in the Cincinnati area. He spent eight years (1994-2001) teaching seventh and eighth grades at St. Louis Elementary and is currently teaching first grade at Terrace Park Elementary. He also is in his 14th season as head swimming and diving coach at his alma mater, Mariemont High School. Kevin has been named Boys or Girls League Coach of the Year 15 times and Southwest District Division II Girls Coach of the Year three times.
