William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Blair is a name along legendary in the history of Hiram College Athletics. Six-and-a-half feet tall, he played center on the basketball team for three years. His senior year, he captained the team which won the state championship.
He was also a star performer on the track team where he invariably won points in the high and low hurdles and also in the high jump and pole vault. He established new Hiram records in the pole vault and high hurdles which stood for more than 20 years.
Blair earned a degree in engineering at Case School of Applied Science after leaving Hiram and served as the chief of the mechanical engineering department for the Eaton Spring Company of Cleveland, Ohio until his death in 1958.
