William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
While at Hiram, Donald L. Kennedy distinguished himself as an outstanding pitcher. He struck out 199 batters while compiling a 1.05 earned run average and never lost a game at home. Twice picked for the NCAA District 4 All-Star Team, Kennedy made three All Ohio Conference teams.
Besides baseball, Kennedy played varsity soccer and served as co-captain of the team, and was a Student Senate dorm senator and a
Capella·choir member. The first recipient of the T. Lloyd McCombs Memorial Award, he and fellow athlete Eric Thompson were Hiram's first
selections as Outstanding Athlete of America.
As of his induction, Kennedy was the manager of consumer loans for Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Brecksville, Md., and has continued his sports activities as a player/manager for one softball team and as a player for another.
