Ronald Kilpatrick is a 1964 graduate of Hiram and was a two-sport athlete as a student. He competed in both indoor and outdoor track (1961-64) as well as cross country (1960-63).

He was a three-year varsity letter winner in cross country and earned four varsity letters in track. Kilpatrick was both an accomplished long distance runner in track and cross country runner, having served as the team captain his final two seasons (1962-63). Kilpatrick was also voted the cross country team’s “Most Valuable Player” on two occasions (1962-63). Kilpatrick was the team’s top runner in several events throughout his career and was a consistent winner in meets against conference and non-conference foes alike. He also recorded several seasons in which he finished as the top point earner on the team. In addition to success on the cross country “trails,”

Kilpatrick was a successful student and a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Gamma Mu honor societies. He was also a four-year member of the “H-Club” and served as president of the Phi Gamma Epsilon fraternity as a senior in 1964.

Following graduation from Hiram, Kilpatrick spent 35 years with International Business Machines and held a variety of executive positions in sales and marketing, including area manager for the Southwest United States headquartered in Los Angeles. In addition, he has served as vice president of marketing for the IBM Printing Systems Division; general manager for the IBM Storage Systems Division in San Jose, California; and was a member of the IBM executive committee. Kilpatrick retired in February of 2000 and, as of his induction, resides in Bonita Springs, Fla.
