III championships in 1976 in the high hurdles. He was a six-time PAC Champion, twice winning the 110m HH event, once winning the 400m IH event, and three times as a member of the winning 4x400 relay team.

He also competed in field events, twice taking the conference runner-up spot in the triple jump. A very versatile athlete, Les also won three letters in swimming and was an All-PAC performer on the medley relay team that established a school record in 1975.

His additional activities included working at the biology field station and as director of Whitcomb Dormitory while attending medical school. As of his induction, Les was a Podiatrist with offices in Salem and Alliance. He enjoys breeding exotic & endangered waterfowl, decoy carving, and coin collecting.
