Erika Willig-Karovic had a successful four-year career in basketball in addition to playing three years of soccer. Her best sport was basketball in which she was a special mention All-American as a senior and was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference award winner as a two-time first-team (1994-96) and a second-team (1993-94) selection. She was also tabbed the OAC Player of the Month twice during her career both as a junior and senior.
Erika served as a team captain (1994-96) and was the team Most Valuable Player during her senior season and the team Defensive Most Valuable Player as a junior. For her career, Erika, as of her induction, ranks second on the Hiram all-time scoring list with 1,564 points. She also, as of her induction, holds the school records in free-throws attempted in a game (21), season (205) and career (838) in addition to most free-throws made in a game (15), season (131) and career (518).
Erika earned a degree in elementary education and has taught seventh grade at Faircrest Middle School in Canton since leaving Hiram and as of her induction.
