Weimert, a 1968 graduate of Hiram, was a three-year letter winner for the Terrier cross country and indoor track and field teams and earned four varsity letters in outdoor track and field as a distance runner. He twice was a national qualifier in cross country and was also an All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner in both indoor and outdoor track. Weimert was captain of the cross country teams for two seasons and was also the team's
most valuable runner in 1967.

Following his graduation from Hiram, Weimert joined the United States Navy where he was a flight officer in the VF-84 fighter squadron from 1969-1973. He then went on to receive his Master's of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1977 and Master's of Theology from St. Mary's Ecumenical Institute in 1981.

Rev. Weimert has served the Calvary Baptist church in Towson since 1977, including, as of his induction, the last 22 years as the church's head pastor. Weimert is a past president of the American Baptist Churches of the South and the Towson Area Ministerial Association. He is also, as of his induction, a board member of the Community Assistance Network.
