Woods, a 1985 graduate of Hiram, was a three-year varsity letter winner in cross country, basketball, and track and field. In cross country, she earned All-President's Athletic Conference honors in 1984 as she helped lead the Terriers to the PAC championship. In basketball, Woods averaged 11.3 points and 9.7 rebounds for her career. Her 27 rebounds against Mount Union College on February 2, 1982 still stands as a school, single-game record, and her 13.4 rebounds per game average for the 1981-82 season is also a school mark. She was a key member of the 1985 PAC championships track and field team and was also active with the club rugby team.

Woods is a former teacher in the Warren City School District and also a former Trumbull County Work Procurement Coordinator for Fairhaven Sheltered Workshop. As of her induction, she had recently completed a 10-year service commitment in the United States Army Reserve Military Intelligence unit and has been an active volunteer with the YMCA Board, American Cancer society, Someplace Safe, and Fairhaven MRDD.

As of her induction, Woods is a stay-at-home mom for her and husband John's two daughters Olivia (5) and Victoria (3).
