William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
While at Hiram, Scher earned four varsity letters in football and three in track and field. He was a three-time All-President's Athletic Conference First-Team selection in football in 1985, 1986, and 1987. In addition he was an Honorable Mention All-American during the 1987 campaign, anchoring the offensive line from the tackle position. In addition to his athletic success at Hiram, Scher also served as the president of student senate.
Scher graduated with a juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University's Franklin Thomas Backus School of Law in 1991. As of his induction, he was partner in the law firm of Burkey, Burkey & Scher Co., LPA and The Title Company of Warren Agency with Hiram alum Robert Burkey ('63) and fellow Hall of Fame inductee Elise Burkey ('85). Scher is also a member of the Trumble County and Ohio State Bar Association.
