William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A 1957 graduate of Hiram, Al made his mark on the Hiram College Athletic program as a four-year letterman on the football field. A much honored and highly-respected fullback, Al received the trophy for the most outstanding blocker. A versatile athlete, in the spring Al contributed his athletic
talents to the Terrier baseball team.
Following graduation, Al embarked upon a career in education which would keep him occupied for more than a quarter of a century. Al served as a
coach, a teacher, and as athletic director for the Kenston Schools for 28 years. Now retired, Al remains active, as of his induction, with the school system he so ably served by working part-time as a supervisor for grounds maintenance. In his free time,he prefers the solitude of fishing to the bright lights of the gridiron field.
