During his four at Hiram, Don anchored the Hiram defensive backfield and played outfield for the Terrier baseball team. Brunetti was a three-time First-Team All-PAC honoree during Hiram’s first years in the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC), and helped lead the Terriers to the 1973 PAC Championship. Known for his speed, both in the outfield and on the base paths, he was also an outstanding hitter, batting .352 in 1972, .362 in 1973, and .317 in 1974. He still ranks among Hiram’s all-time best with a career batting average of .349.

Don was also an All-PAC performer in football as a defensive back and wide receiver and received the Campbell Award in 1973 as Hiram’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year, and upon graduation in 1974 he received a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue a D.D.S. degree.

One of only five Hiram athletes to receive such a scholarship, he went on to study dentistry and as of his induction, was self-employed in private practice in Youngstown.
