Everhard, or "June" was, at the time, the only man to earn five letters in one sport at Hiram College. He was known for his aggressive style of play as a guard on the basketball team and was a student in the College preparatory department when he made the basketball team in 1909.
The smallest, as well as the youngest member of the five regular starters, he, nevertheless, was a real factor in the team's success. They won ten of twelve games with Ohio colleges that year and were state champions.
June was what was then known as the running guard and his aggressive tactics continued to make life miserable for opposition forwards throughout his long playing career. He also frequently outscored the man he was guarding.
After Hiram, he studied architecture at Carnegie Tech and practiced that profession in Cleveland, specializing in church and school design until his recent retirement.
