William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A 1969 graduate of Hiram, was a man for all seasons; he competed in football in the fall, wrestled in the winter, arid threw the discus in the spring. After his sophomore year, Denny added a second .winter sport, indoor track, making him perhaps the busiest man on campus.
A four-year letter winner in football, wrestling, and track, Weigel was honored by his teammates with selection as co-captain of the 1968 Hiram football team. In track, Denny was Hiram's top entry in the discus and one of the best discus throwers in the Ohio Athletic Conference at that time.
As of his induction, Weigel served as vice president, technology services-project support, for Nations Bank near his home in Annapolis, Md.
