Shaina (Bryan) Carpenter did it all as a student-athlete at Hiram College, contributing both offensively and defensively, while also serving a key leadership role as a two-time team captain (2010, 2011). Shaina was a three-time All-NCAC selection (First Team in 2010 and 2011) and earned the third NCAC Player of the Year award in Hiram program history in 2010. The North Coast Athletic Conference later recognized her as a member of its All-Decade Team (2003-12) for her efforts in lifting the Hiram women’s volleyball program to an NCAC title in 2010 and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011. Hiram College Athletics also recognized Shaina for her contributions to the women's volleyball program, as she earned the Helen M. Petroskey Award (Hiram Female Athlete of the Year) in both 2011 and 2012.

Shaina’s four-year contributions still live on today, as she ranks third in program history in kills (1,330), tied for ninth in digs (1,238) and fourth in matches played (137). There are 10 student-athletes in Hiram women’s volleyball history to join the 1,000-kill club; Shaina was the fifth student-athlete to reach that milestone. She is also one of 15 Terriers to be in the 1,000-dig club.

Currently, Shaina resides in Las Vegas and works as a Senior Internal Auditor for the Edward Jones Financial Investment Firm. She has been in the internal audit field for over 10 years, working in transportation, gaming/hospitality, utilities and financial services.

In her free time, Shaina enjoys hiking, playing pickleball and volleyball, and spending time with her two-year-old daughter, Avery.
