The 1980 graduate established himself as one of the top players in the President's Athletic Conference in the late 70s and early 80s. The hard-hitting outfielder was a three-time All-PAC performer, winning First-Team honors in 1979 and 1980, and was the PAC Most Valuable Player his senior season in 1980.

An outstanding hitter throughout his career, Pat batted .345 as a sophomore in helping to lead Hiram to the PAC Championship in 1978, and followed with an average of .325 in 1979, and .365 during his MVP season in 1980. His .345 career batting average still ranks him among Hiram’s all-time leaders, and he was also selected to the Division III All-Region Team his senior year. Giannell received the Campbell Award in 1980 as Hiram’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

As of his induction, Pat was a social studies teacher at Perry High School. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Pat was an assistant football and baseball coach and enjoys sharing his love of baseball with his children and other children of the Perry community.
