Oscar Chaves was a four-year member of the Hiram men’s soccer team during his time as a student-athlete. Chaves played from 1977-80 and earned a varsity letter each season. He was also a multi-time All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference Award winner as well as serving as a team captain during his final two years.
In addition, Chaves was named Most Valuable Player as a senior. Off the field, he was a two-year member of Alpha Pi Epsilon - Delphics and the outdoors club.
Following graduation from Hiram in 1982, Chaves went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Cleveland State University in 1990. For the past 14 years, and as of his induction, he has served as a clinical manager for Fresenius Medical Services and is in charge of several dialysis clinics. In 1997, Chaves had a clinical pathway about iron deficiency published in “The American Nephrology Nurses Association Journal.” He also presented an abstract at the ANNA National Convention in Minneapolis in 1998.
