Hiram College

Derrick was a three-time All-PAC honoree, garnering Second-Team honors as a sophomore in 1972, and winning First-Team honors after his junior and seniors seasons in 1973 and 1974. He was a key member of a Hiram basketball powerhouse that won back-to-back-to-back PAC Championships from 1972 to 1974 during their first three years as a member of the conference.

Derrick was the team’s leading scorer in two of those years and finished his career with 1,379 points, currently ranking eighth on Hiram’s all-time list. He was also named to the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region All-Tournament Team in post season play in 1974. A two-time Team Captain and MVP, Derrick was also an outstanding performer on the Hiram golf team.

As of his induction, Derrick was self-employed with K. Derrick Enterprises. In his free time, Derrick enjoys chess, music, and all sports. He has also maintained his love of sports through his participation in Lake County softball and basketball leagues.
