William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Bill Reed is honored for his participation in baseball, indoor track and cross country. He lettered in baseball and cross country and was First-Team All-Conference two years as well as Second-Team All-Conference Player two years. He was also a member of the All-NCAA Small College Midwest All-Star Team.
During Bill's time at Hiram, the 1966 and 1967 baseball teams were the best in history to that point. They set a college winning streak record by
winning fourteen-straight games and had a record of fifteen wins and two losses.
While at Hiram, Bill was also involved in Phi Gamma Epsilon and Tri-Beta. In addition to his Hiram education, Bill also earned two Master's Degrees in Management and-Computer Information Science. Having served as a fighter pilot and officer in the U.S. Air Force, Bill retired in November 1989 and began a career as a commercial pilot with American Air Lines. He is member of the Alamogordo Amateur Radio Club and belongs to his unit golf and softball teams.
