William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
While at Hiram, Burkey participated in cross country, track and field, basketball, and swimming and diving. Burkey lettered in four times in track and field and three times in cross country. Burkey was twice voted most valuable player on the cross country team and earned All-President's Athletic Conference honors during the 1984 season in which the team won the PAC championship.
Following her graduation from Hiram in 1985, Burkey received her Juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law in 1988. As of her induction, she was a partner in the firm of Burkey, Burkey, & Scher Co., LPA and The Title Company of Warren with her father Robert Burkey ('63) and fellow Hall of Fame inductee James Scher ('88).
