Josh Jakacki was a three-year member and three-year letterwinner in men’s basketball at Hiram.
Jakacki was a team captain in 1998 and was named Team MVP for all three seasons he played (1996-1998). He led the team in both assists and rebounds in all three of his seasons and is a member of the 1,000 Point Club, scoring 1,049. He was named Second Team All-OAC in 1996 and 1998 and Honorable Mention All-OAC in 1997. He also earned Academic All-OAC honors in 1998.
Jakacki holds the single season and career mark for steals with 62 and 142, respectively. In addition, he ranks fifth in career assists (325) and free throw percentage (.783), seventh in field goals made (403), eighth in minutes played (2,477) and tenth in field goals attempted (893).
Upon his graduation from Hiram in 1998, Jakacki obtained his Master’s Degree in 2001. He served as a language arts teacher at Crestwood from 1998-2007 and the head boys basketball coach from 2000-2005. As of his induction, Jakacki was a language arts and social studies teacher at Kenston High School, where he also served as the head boys basketball coach and assistant head track coach.
