William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Day won eight intercollegiate athletic awards during his three years of eligibility at Hiram. He was a fullback on the football team and captain his senior year. Day played forward for the basketball team and outfield on the baseball team.
For 12 years, Day coached in Mansfield and Celina, Ohio and served three years with the Navy in World War II before moving to Arkansas to serve as an Educational Training Officer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. He retired as assistant chief of special services several years prior to his induction.
Past director of the Pulaski County Council Retired Senior Volunteer program, as of his induction, Day and his wife lived in North Little Rock, Ark.
