William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
A four-year letter winner for the Terriers baseball team from 1976-1979, Dale was named to the All-PAC squad following his freshman and senior seasons. He served as captain and was selected as the team MVP by his teammates as a senior.
For the past 20 years, Dale has dedicated his life to teaching and coaching in the public schools. He was first with Garrettsville Garfield for six years and, for the past fourteen years as of his induction; he has been in Maple Heights. During his tenure with Garrettsville Garfield High School, he coached the baseball team to the Portage County League Baseball Championships in 1984 and 1985. He was selected by the PCL and Portage County Umpires Association as Coach of the Year in 1985.
Dale continues to play the sport he loves logging between 75 and 100 games each summer. As well, he serves as a volunteer worker with Maple Heights youth groups three days a week during the summer months. An unexpected turn in his career at the time of his induction led Dale to become a wrestling coach in the Maple Heights legendary wresting program.
