William H. Hollinger Hall of Fame
Charles "Chuck" Sweeney will be honored for his superior performance in outdoor track, indoor track and cross country. A recipient of 12 varsity letters while at Hiram, Sweeney was voted most valuable player in cross country and indoor track and served as captain of the cross country team and co-captain of the indoor track team. He was first in the All-Ohio cross country division and set records· in cross country and indoor and outdoor track.
A member of Phi Gamma Epsilon, Sweeney was also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honorary Society. He served as president
of H-Club his senior year. As of his induction, a specialist in commercial real estate, Sweeney resided in Aurora, Colo., and continues to run both for pleasure and occasional competition.
