Upon his arrival in Hiram as a student in 1927, Kelker's leadership was apparent and immediately recognized by his classmates who elected him their president.
As a charter member of Phi Gamma Epsilon, he continued as a campus leader. His participation in athletics was a significant part of his well-rounded activities.
Lettering as an end on the football team and three times in track, Aaron established the Hiram College record in the quarter mile. He held that record more than 38 years. He is fondly remembered running the 100-yard dash as a warm-up for the quarter mile race .
Aaron further distinguished himself by serving in a variety of community positions and serving his Alma Mater faithfully for twenty-eight years.
