Hiram College

Coombs starred for four years as a member of the basketball team in an era when Hiram was a real power among Ohio colleges. He served as captain of the basketball team his senior year and was also a tower of force at guard on the football team.

His entire life followed in the world of athletics, through his long career as partner in the Blepp-Coombs sporting goods firm of Cleveland.
