Ronald “Ron” D. Aulet was a two-sport athlete at Hiram playing one season of basketball (1991-92), but was known more for his four years of baseball (1992-95). Ron was a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball player who earned second-team honors as a senior and was tabbed honorable mention twice (1993 and 1994). He was also the recipient of the Hiram Campbell Award as a senior which is given to the top male student-athlete.

On the field, Ron had a lifetime .324 batting average at the plate with 118 career hits. He also scored 69 runs in four years and drove in 39 runs. Defensively, he had a .962 fielding percentage tallying 251 putouts and 26 assists. Ron also saw playing time as a pitcher recording seven wins in 22 career appearances, including 12 complete games, and had a 5.45 earned run average. He led his team in strikeouts in two seasons (1993 and 1995) and ended his career with 93 “K’s” in 135-and-a-third innings. Ron is currently tied for the school career record in walks with 62 and is tied for fourth in most career complete games pitched with 12.

Following graduation, Ron accepted a position with “Preston Trucking Company” as an operations coordinator and later returned to his alma mater to become an assistant men’s baseball and basketball coach in addition to being the equipment manager. He then served as the head equipment manager at the University of Kansas before moving on to the University of Missouri at Kansas City as the Assistant Athletics Director of Facilities and Operations at the time of his induction.
