The Terriers move to 3-5, while the Thoroughbreds move to 4-3.

GAME 1: Skidmore 18, Hiram 1
The Thoroughbreds broke through in the top of the first inning against Hiram, scoring eight runs on nine hits to take an early lead. Skidmore added two more in the top of the second, one in the top of the fourth and five more in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 16-0.

The Terriers got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth, as Curtis Caithaml's single scored Kyle Adams from third, but the Thoroughbreds responded with two more runs on Jackson Hornung's two-run blast in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 18-1.

Declan Ange (0-1) took the loss for the Terriers, while Jack Clark (1-0) earned the win for Skidmore.

Justin Humphry allowed just three runs, two earned over 3.2 innings of relief for the Terriers, striking out a pair, while Jack Seiple struck out two in a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

Vince Suso went 2-for-2 with a walk, while Caithaml went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Adams tallied the lone extra-base hit of the game for the Terriers, going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

GAME 2: Hiram 8, Skidmore 5
The Terriers, though, would bounce back in game two. After Daniel Quintero Jr. worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the first, Hiram scored first in the top of the second.

Kyle Harris led off the second with a single to center and stole second. After the next two batters recorded outs, Harris advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on Michael Corsillo's RBI single through the right side to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. And after Corsillo stole second, Caithaml brought him home with an RBI single to left-center, extending Hiram's lead to 2-0.

Skidmore threatened in the bottom of the second, but Quintero Jr. got out of the jam with the help of a 7-4-5 double play. However, after Hiram left two on in the top of the third, the Thoroughbreds took the lead in the bottom of the inning.

Three-straight singles made it a 2-1 Hiram lead, before Matt Chipkin reached on an error, scoring Pascal Marcktell to even the score at 2-2. Skidmore added another run on Jake Hardy's RBI single and a double steal, before another error extended the Thoroughbreds' lead to 5-2 after three.

But the Terriers quickly answered, scoring a run in the top of the fourth to cut Skidmore's lead down to two. Corsillo drew a two-out walk and Caithaml followed with an RBI double to center, making it a 5-3 ballgame.

Phillip Moore then settled things down on the mound for the Terriers, working around a one-out single in the bottom of the fourth and getting out of a bases-loaded jam unscathed in the bottom of the fifth.

In the top of the fifth, Hiram scored three more runs, all coming with two outs, to take a 6-5 lead. PJ Suso singled to center and Kyle Harris followed with a single up the middle, putting two on with two outs for Cole Bates. Bates singled through the ride side, scoring both Suso to cut Skidmore's lead to 5-4. Then Luke Brown legged out an infield single, scoring both Harris and Bates, to give the Terriers a 6-5 lead.

Hiram added a pair of insurance runs in the top of the sixth on Vince Suso's RBI double and Harris' RBI single, extending their lead to 8-5.

Sam Boyle relieved Moore to start the bottom of the sixth and stranded two runners in the frame to keep Hiram's lead at 8-5.

And in the bottom of the seventh, Skidmore loaded the bases, bringing the game-winning run to the plate with just one out, but Boyle got William Snyder to hit into a 5-3 double play to nail down the save and give the Terriers an 8-5 win.

Moore (1-0) earned the win for the Terriers, allowing just two hits and two walks over 2.2 innings of scoreless relief. Boyle (1) earned the save, holding the Thoroughbreds scoreless over 2.0 innings, striking out two. Jonathan Kaiser (0-1) took the loss for Skidmore.

Caithaml led the Terriers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and two RBI. Harris also tallied three hits, going 3-for-4 with a stolen base, two runs scored and an RBI.

Corsillo went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, two runs scored and an RBI, while Bates went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
