OBERLIN, Ohio - April 23, 2026 - Hiram baseball dropped a non-conference affair against a former in-conference opponent, Oberlin, by a score of 3-0 on Thursday evening.
The game between the two teams marked their first since Hiram returned to full-time competition in the PAC this season. Oberlin has remained in the NCAC and is the former home of Hiram head coach Phil Brua, who was inducted into the Oberlin Heisman Club Hall of Fame in 2024.
The Terriers couldn't get a rally going in the game despite a trio of hits between Ethan Ryan, Luke Snider and Brady Trem. Logan Gallentine and Ben Yoder also had a stolen base each in the contest, which ended after seven and a half innings due to lightning in the area.
On the mound for Hiram was Nick Licursi, who neared a quality start with five innings of three-run ball. Timothy Johnson and Jimmy Rey Gonzales each tallied a scoreless inning of relief to round out a solid day of pitching for the road team.
Hiram will jump back into PAC competition on Sunday, when it takes on Saint Vincent for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in Latrobe, PA.
