FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Olivet (Mich.) used a late rally to stun the Hiram College baseball team by a 11-10 score at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida on Tuesday.

The Terriers are now 0-5 on the season, while the Comets improve to 3-3.

Senior Trevor Foster (Warren, Ohio/Champion) went 4-for-5 with two RBI's and two runs scored. He finished a homer short of the cycle.

Freshman Bryan Fryda (Youngstown, Ohio/Boardman) also collected four hits, driving in three runs.

Freshman Bryan Engdahl (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual) went 3-for-5 with a RBI and run scored.

The Terriers were able to score in the top half of the first inning as Foster singled home Engdahl.

Olivet tied the score in the second, but Hiram came right back in the third with four runs to open a 5-1 lead. Three of the four Terrier runs came with two outs in the inning.

Foster would open up the scoring in the inning by lacing a triple to drive in junior Brandon Chesmar (Elyria, Ohio/Amherst Steele).

With runners on the corners, Fryda singled home Foster. Freshman John Reid (Ravenna, Ohio/Crestwood) would reach on an error to score freshman Zayvier Cintron (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) and Engdahl followed with a double to bring home Reid.

The Comets responded with two runs in the bottom of the third, but Hiram had an answer with two more in the fourth thanks to another Olivet error and a Fryda single, making the score 7-3.

Olivet would trim Hiram's lead to 7-5 with two runs of their own in the fourth.

The Terriers made it 8-5 in the fifth as freshman Christian Owens (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) singled home Foster.

Olivet would score a run in the sixth and added two more in the seventh to tie the game at 8-8.

The Terriers regained the lead in the eighth, as Reid singled home sophomore Riley Harpster (Ashland, Ohio/Hillsdale).

But Olivet had another answer, this time scoring twice to retake the lead 10-9 in the bottom half of the eighth.

The Terriers looked to rally and were able to tie the score in the ninth. Freshman Preston Patterson (Uniontown, Ohio/Lake) advanced to second on an error. Down to their final out, Fryda singled to bring in Patterson and tie the game.

Olivet was able to get its leadoff batter on in the ninth and loaded the bases with two outs. A passed ball allowed the game winning run to score and give the Comets a 11-10 win.

Freshman Justin Joyce (Fort Myers, Fla./Evangelical Christian) struck out three batters in 5.1 innings of work and junior Ryan Fedor (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) gave up three earned runs in 3.1 innings.

Hiram will take a day and will play next on Thursday, March 10, against Haverford (Pa.) at 3 p.m.
