Hiram, Ohio – September 21, 2026 – Derek Ufholz of men's soccer and Jacey English of women's volleyball were selected this week for Terriers of the Week. This comes after impressive performances from each student-athlete which helped guide their teams throughout the week. 

Ufholz started out his week strong, where he would start in goal for Hiram's first and second PAC matchup of the season. On 9/16 against W&J, Ufholz would record a clean sheet, along with making a career-high seven saves in Hiram's 2-0 victory over the Presidents. Ufholz would carry that momentum of Wednesday into Hiram's second PAC matchup on Saturday, where he would continue to impress, recording 2 saves while keeping Hiram out of the loss column, when the Terriers would tie Franciscan 1-1. The sophomore from Mentor, OH has been a force in goal for the Terriers, making a ton of big saves already in this young season. Ufholz and the rest of the Terriers will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Geneva College for their third PAC matchup of the season. 

English also had an impressive week on the back line for the Terriers, recording an impressive week defensively. English would start out the week on 9/15 against Baldwin Wallace, where the freshman would finish with 19 digs and 2 assists on the back line for Hiram. The freshman from Lewisville, OH would carry that momentum into Saturday, where English would finish with a new career-high 25 digs, along with recording a new career-high 6 assists. English would help lift the team to a 3-0 victory over Chatham, helping give the Terriers a 1-0 record in the PAC.  English and the rest of the Terriers will return to action on Tuesday, when they will travel to Mount Union for a non-conference showdown.
