ALLIANCE, Ohio- April 23,2026- The Hiram Terrier track & field team traveled to Mount Union on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Hiram competed hard in the meet, with many personal bests set in an impressive performance by multiple student- athletes.
Day 1 Recap
The Terriers started their day off with the javelin throw, where Kyle Filkill finished with a mark of 36.12 m, which finished 12th. On the women's side, Kylie Moser finished fifth, throwing a mark of 34.29 m.
Hiram continued their day in the discus, where Sam Volpe continued to impress, throwing a mark of 43.02 m and winning the event. On the men's side, Christian Berish finished 16th with a mark of 38.58 m.
Day 2 Recap
The Terriers began the second day with the prelims, when Trezure Bates qualified for the 100 meter hurdle finals. Bates would later finish sixth in the finals, running an impressive time of 15.39. In the 100 m prelims, Kevin Dycks finished with a time of 10.96, just missing out on the finals, but not without an impressive performance.
In the men's 800, Aidan Shiels continued to run outstanding, placing secondin that event with a new personal best and improved school record time of 1:51.65, which ranks among the top-20 in the country. Shiels has continued his impressive freshman season with the Terriers. In the women's 400 hurdles, Kylie Moser continued the week at Mount Union, finishing 10th in that event with a time of 1:10.41. On the men's side, Sebastian Regalado had an excellent day as well, finishing seventh with a time of 58.60.
On the field event side, Tucker Marmash had a great performance, hitting a new personal best mark of 7.20 m for a fourth-place finish. In the women's triple jump, Kelsey Downs and Sarah Douglas finished fourth and sixth, with Downs jumping a mark of 9.91 m and Douglas jumping a mark of 8.94 m. In the women's high jump, Karalyn Rutkowski finished fourth, jumping a mark of 1.57 m. Sam Volpe continued her meet on the second day, throwing a mark of 12.57 m in the shot put, which was good enough for fourth place, and a mark of 43.71 m in the hammer, which finished in fifth place.
The Terriers will be back in action next Thursday, when they travel to Morgantown, WV for the PAC Championships.
