OBERLIN, Ohio - March 28, 2026- The Hiram Terrier track & field team opened up their 2026 outdoor season at Oberlin College, with the two-day event at the Bob Kahn Invite welcoming in the spring season. The Terriers competed hard, earning many impressive results in the two-day event at Oberlin.
Day 1 Recap
The Terriers opened up their season on Friday night, with many outstanding performances to show for, kicking off a strong start to the outdoor season.
In the women's long jump,
Juliana Gunn continued the impressive form from indoor season, jumping a mark of 5.08m on the third attempt, which was good enough for a second-place finish. On the men's side later,
Tucker Marmash demolished his seed time, jumping a mark of 6.88m in that event, which was good enough to win the long jump.
In the hammer throw,
Sam Volpe continued the success of the indoor season into outdoor, finishing third with a mark 41.19m, which is good enough for a new school record in that event, beating the old mark by over four meters. On the men's side of the hammer,
Christian Berish broke his own school record by over five meters, setting a massive PR in that event with a best mark of 36.82m.
Day 2 Recap
The Terriers kept up the momentum of Day 1 into the second day, with many more impressive results. The day started on the track for Hiram, with many personal bests and outstanding finishes made.
In the 100-meter dash,
Kevin Dycks continued his dominance from indoor season, winning that event with a time of 11.18. Dycks followed up the 100 with the 200 meters, where he finished third with a time of 22.64. The Terriers success continued in the 800 meters, when freshman phenom
Aidan Shiels won the event, blowing away the field by over four seconds, finishing with a time of 1:55.65.
On the hurdles side,
Trezure Bates finished second in that event, running a time of 15.65 in the finals.
Makyndree Smith and
Kylie Moser were not far behind, with Smith finishing fourth and Moser finishing seventh. Moser followed up the 100 hurdles with the 400 hurdles, finishing second in that event with a time of 1:11.13.
On the men's side,
Sebastian Regalado and
Maurice Wadesisi finished fourth and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles. Regalado also competed in the 400 hurdles, where he won that event, finishing with a time of 1:00.37. In the men's 400m dash,
Nathan Feltner continued to impress, running a time of 51.24 in that event, good enough for third place. His teammate and 4x400 relay partner
Kamran Walton was not far behind, finishing fifth with an impressive time of 51.66.Â
On the field side,
Karalyn Rutkowski continued with impressive results, clearing a mark of 1.58m, which was enough for a second-place finish. In the triple jump,
Kelsey Downs and
Sarah Douglas finished second and third, with Downs finishing with a mark of 8.75 m and Douglas finishing with a mark of 8.35 m. In the shot put, Volpe continued to find success, winning the event with a mark of 12.58 m. Moser and
Kayla Mack were not far behind, finishing third and fourth with marks of 10.70m and 10.69m.

The Terriers will be back in action next Saturday, when they travel to OWU for the Marv Frye Invite.
