HIRAM, Ohio – July 23, 2026 – Hiram Track & Field was well-represented in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) release of its All-Academic Athletes from this past 2026 season.

Both Tucker Marmash and Aidan Shiels were honored on the men's side, while Karalyn Rutkowski and Sam Volpe were the individual honorees for the women's team. The entire Terriers women's team was also honored thanks to a 3.40 combined GPA.

It's another huge step forward for the program under head coach Dan Graber, who has led his teams to major success both in the field of competition and in the classroom. Among the many Hiram records for both the indoor and outdoor seasons, 21 are held by student-athletes from the 2025-26 team.

Marmash capped off his collegiate career in style, winning the PAC outdoor title in the long jump with a mark of 6.83m.  A Communication major, Marmash has thrived as a leader on the team and an active member in other groups across campus, including as a photographer and social media content producer with the Terriers sports information department.

Shiels stands alone atop the Hiram leaderboard for the 800-meter run during the indoor season (program record 1:53.40), as well as the 800-meter run for the outdoor season (program record 1:51.65). Both of those marks lifted him to a pair of PAC titles, and eventually earned him the second-ever Dave Bishoff Award, which is given to the "Newcomer of the Year" at Hiram College. Shiels is a Computer Science major and set to begin his second year at Hiram College in the fall.

Rutkowski was among Hiram's nominees for the prestigious Helen M. Petroskey Award (Hiram's "Female Athlete of the Year") following a breakout season in the high jump. She neared the Hiram outdoor record in the high jump, while also earning three different all-conference awards across the NCAC and PAC during her two seasons with the Terriers. An Environmental Studies major, Rutkowski earned a CSC Academic All-District award following her senior season, too.

Volpe racked up just about every record and award imaginable during her junior season with the Terriers, setting the school records in the shot put (indoor and outdoor), hammer throw (outdoor) and discus (outdoor). She notably earned All-PAC honors in all three of those outdoor events this past spring before earning the nod as a CSC Academic All-District selection and Hiram's Charles A. Henry Award winner (Scholar-Athlete of the Year from junior class). Volpe is an Education major and is set for the start of her senior season this fall.

Hiram track & field will return to campus in August before beginning its quest to set even more records and reach new heights in the Presidents' Athletic Conference in 2026-27.
