BEREA, Ohio - May 8, 2026- The Hiram Terrier track & field team traveled to Berea, OH on the campus of Baldwin Wallace University for the Harrison Dilliard Twilight Meet. The Terriers competed hard, with multiple impressive performances that helped them have a successful meet.
The Terriers started the meet on Friday afternoon with the discus. On the men's side, Kaden Duke placed 17th in that event, throwing a mark of 30.36 m. Sam Volpe continued the impressive season in the discus on the women's side, placing fourth with a mark of 40.05 m.
The Terriers returned to Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, when they began the track events and finished all the field events. In the 800 meters, Aidan Shiels continued his impressive freshman season, finishing third with a time of 1:52.71. In the men's 400 hurdles, Sebastian Regalado finished sixth with a new personal best time of 57.11. On the women's side of the 400 hurdles, Kylee Neer had a new personal best set, running a time of 1:10.63. In the men's 200, Kyle Filkill and Kevin Dycks both had a great run, with Dycks finishing with a time of 22.63 and Filkill finishing with a time of 22.83. Hiram closed out the events on the track with McKenzie Riley, who ran the 1500 in a time of 5:10.18.
On the field side, Hiram started their day off with the hammer, when Kenta Poole finished with a mark of 37.47 m. Poole followed the hammer with the shot put, where he threw a mark of 13.04 m. In the women's hammer throw, Chloe Cooper had a great day, finishing 11th with a mark of 39.20 m. In the women's shot put, Sam Volpe continued in the meet, placing fifth with a mark of 12.59 m. In the men's long jump, Tucker Marmash placed fifth, jumping a mark of 6.91 m in the rainy conditions. Lastly, in the women's high jump, Karalyn Rutkowski continued to impress, clearing a mark of 1.61 m with a fourth-place finish.
Hiram will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Mount Union for the final last chance meet, with multiple Terriers on the verge of making the NCAA National Meet.
