HIRAM, Ohio - June 25, 2025 - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) awarded Academic All-District honors to Karalyn Rutkowski (jumps), Sam Volpe (throwing) and Kylie Moser (mid-distance/distance/throws, cross country) on Tuesday afternoon, the first group of student-athletes to take home the prestigious honor since it returned to competition at Hiram College in 2023-24.
To qualify, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. In terms of player participation, all selected track & field student-athletes must have a top-50 individual mark in the region, whether that be for cross country or indoor/outdoor track & field.
Rutkowski earned All-NCAC honors during the indoor season for a third-place finish in the high jump (1.56m, 5' 1.25" ) before posting a mark of 1.59m (5' 2.5" ) during the outdoor season, which was tied for the 10th-best mark in the Great Lakes region. An environmental studies major, Rutkowski neared a perfect GPA at the end of her junior year.
Volpe also was an all-conference selection this past spring, claiming third place in the discus (37.83m, 124'1") to take home the hardware at the start of May. As things currently stand, the Concord, OH native holds Hiram program records in the outdoor shot put (12.07m, 39' 7.25"), discus (39.78m, 130' 6") and indoor shot put (11.71m, 38' 5").
Moser lifted her team to a strong start in the NCAC Outdoor Championships, placing seventh in the heptathlon (3,381 points) in a loaded NCAC field of 12 student-athletes. She later posted 3,878 points in the same event at the Mount Union Last Chance meet, a total that finished the season as the fifth-best in the entire region.
All three of the awarded student-athletes will return to the roster in 2025-26, when Hiram College begins competition in the Presidents' Athletic Conference and looks to build upon a record-setting season this past year.
