HIRAM, Ohio – January 5, 2026 – Hiram track and field announced the hiring of Me'zel Square-Ward as an assistant coach specializing in jumps. The news was made official to open the calendar year, with the men's and women's team set to continue indoor competition later this month.
Square-Ward is no stranger to the collegiate scene in Northeast Ohio, having previously competed in four seasons at Malone University (Division II | Canton, OH). The Dover, DE native primarily competed in the long jump and triple jump while a member of the Pioneers, which included the third-best mark in the indoor triple jump in program history (14.13m, 46' 4.25"). He also was a part of the 2025 NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Championship team.
Away from his time as a student-athlete, Square-Ward interned as a strength coach at Malone University. He graduated in the spring of 2025 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science.
Square-Ward, alongside head coach Dan Graber, will next lead the Terriers at the Spire Midwest Open on Saturday, Jan. 24 in Geneva, OH.
