Men's Soccer Falls 3-1 in Matchup with Spartans

Oct.3- CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Hiram College men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Case Western Reserve, Wednesday night. 
 
The Terriers were held scoreless in the first half posting one shot on goal from sophomore Giovanni Meza
 
Case Western scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute to tally an early first-half advantage. 
 
The Spartans would push their lead to 3-0 early in the second half off back-to-back goals from sophomore Seldon Magruder. 
 
After the half, the Terriers offense responded with their lone goal of the match when Brendan Niggemeyer scored from an assist from junior Saint Roger Bountsebe. The second-half goal marked as a career first for Niggemeyer. 
 
Hiram finished the night with 12 saves with six on net. 
 
In goal, freshman Shelby Edwards made his second appearance of the season with a career-high six saves in his 90 minutes of work. 
 
The Terriers will return home on Saturday, October 6 in a matchup with Oberlin. The game is scheduled for 1 PM.
