Sept. 23 – HIRAM, Ohio – Despite erasing an early two-goal deficit, the Hiram men's soccer team dropped a 3-2, overtime, decision to Wabash on Saturday.

 

The Little Giants' Jacques Boulais tallied the deciding goal with 5:30 remaining in the overtime frame to provide the difference. Boulias tallied all three scores for Wabash.

 

Following a pair of Boulais' goals, the Terriers (2-6, 0-1 NCAC), responded in the 24th minute on a goal by senior Keanu Shelton. 

 

A free kick from senior Keegan Williams was volleyed into the air by captain Richard Milford and then finished by Shelton for his first goal of the season. 

 

The Terriers' patience paid off in the 35th minute as senior Christian Nshimyumuremyi made his first goal of the season with a little over ten minutes left in the first half. Williams also assisted on the Nshimyumuremyi goal, giving him a pair of assists on the day.

 

The second half was a silent one, sending the game into the overtime period.

 

The extra frame lasted 4:30 before Boulais finished his hat trick to end the game, 3-2. 

 

Despite the loss, sophomore CJ Keith played well, making eight stops for the Terriers. 

 

The Terriers next contest is set for Tuesday, September 26 as they take on Marietta. The matchup with the Pioneers is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start at Charles A. Henry Field.
