OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Hiram College men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Oberlin on Wednesday evening.
The Terriers are now 6-8-3 on the season and 2-5-1 in NCAC play, while the Yeomen improve to 10-6-1, 4-4-0.
Oberlin struck for three first half goals to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the break.
The Yeomen struck for another goal in the second half to close out the scoring.
Junior Zac Cairns (North Olmsted, Ohio/St. Edward) had a chance in the 22nd minute when he fired a shot, but the Oberlin defense was able to make a team save on the attempt.
Senior Matt Sacher (Akron, Ohio/Coventry) made four stops in goal for the Terriers.
Oberlin held a 21-7 edge in shots, including a 9-1 advantage on goal. The Yeomen also took three corner kicks, while Hiram took none.
The Terriers will close out the season on Saturday as they travel to take on No. 22 Ohio Wesleyan. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
